Location: Rocha Department in Uruguay’s east.
Duration: Three days (weekend travel, departure from Capital Federal Friday
night. Return: First workable day between 7.30-8.00 a.m.) Services
included:
Activities: We
arrive early at the cabins; we have breakfast and depart on the minibus
towards Rocha ‘s sierras. After 30 km traveling, we prepare the bikes at
this beautiful landscape and start cycling. We
meet this nice rocky paths, with up and fast downhills and we go over 30 km
before reaching la Cuchilla de los Cerrillos. There we rest and have lunch.
Then we go on after other 15km and load the bikes and return to the cabins. Whole day distance: 45-50km Kind of roads: rock paths. The
day after we go on the minibus towards Castillos, a beautiful place declared
reserve by the Unesco, for its incredible Palm trees. Flora and fauna are
amazing too: you’ll be able to see Ñandues. Caranchos, federales etc. We
go over a nice landscape and finish the day after 45 km in “El Camino del
Indio” a historic path local Aborigines used for centuries. Whole day distance: 45km Kind of roads: rock paths.
The
last day we seize the morning cycling around La Paloma. We go over 25 km
meeting the most beautiful beaches after reaching Rocha´s Lagoon, known by
being a nice place for bird watching. We
use the afternoon for relaxing under the sun and enjoying the beach. At
7.00 pm we depart towards Buenos Aires. Whole day distance: 25 km Kind
of roads: sand paths.
