Day 1 - Trelew Reception and assistance at Trelew airport. Transfer to Estancia San Guillermo, 17 km. from Puerto Madryn, facing the coast known as Cerro Avanzado. This traditional Patagonian ranch, offers the visitor plent of activities, such as getting in close contact with the gauchos’ farm works, minitrekking in the surrounding area and make your own antrophological research. Trekking or horse-back riding to Cerro Avanzado at only 4 km from the main house will provide the opportunity to identify the geological evolution of Patagonia and an important legacy of paleontological interest. Visit the ranch’s private collection of fossiles found at the hill. Accommodation. Dinner.
Day 2 - Puerto Madryn Continental breakfast. Full day tour passing through the Ameghino Isthmus between Nuevo and San Jose Gulfs . We will visit Caleta Valdés, the habitat of sea elephants, Punta Delgada and continue to Puerto Pirámide, where there is a Sea Lion Rockery. Lunch. During October and November there is an optional boat excursion from Puerto Pirámide to watch the whales. Return to Estancia San Guillermo. Accommodation. Dinner
Day 3 - Puerto Madryn / Ushuaia Continental breakfast. Departure to Punta Tombo Rockery to admire a magnificent colony of millions of Magellan penguins. Transfer to Trelew airport to board flight to Ushuaia (flight departure after 2 pm). Reception at Ushuaia airport and transfer to hotel. Accommodation. In the afternoon city tour including points of interest such as the End of the World Museum. Dinner.
Day 4 – Ushuaia / Rio Grande Continental Breakfast. An unforgettable trip in the Tierra del Fuego Southern Railway: "The Train to the End of the World". The convoy departs from the Central Station and uses the original terreplein which was part of the old small train for prisoners which ran until 1947. The trip crosses the Río Pipo where you’ll see a recreation of the Yamanas and Shelknam indian camps called "Río Ajej" which are identical in size and shape. The trip goes on through the Cañadón del Toro for about 4.5 km. Excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park visiting Río Pipo, Monte Susana, Cañadón del Toro, Lago Roca and a briefstop to see the "Wood House". Afternoon transfer to Estancia Rolito, travelling along Fagnano and Escondido lakes. Dinner and accommodation at Estancia Rolito.
Day 5 – Estancia Rolito After breakfast, you can enjoy trekking, horse-back riding or share in the farm activities. After lunch, depart to the "Heart of the Island", visiting Shenolsh Hill, where the majestic flight of the Condor can be observed. Coffee break at Parador Yawen, then return to Estancia Rolito for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 – Rio Grande / Rio Gallegos After breakfast, transfer to Río Grande to visit the Salesian Mission and then transfer to the airport to board flight to Río Gallegos. Regular bus line to El Calafate (350 km) and then to Estancia Nibepo Aike, located in Los Glaciares National Park (reserve zone), on the East and South margins of Roca Lake, 60km from El Calafate and 30 km from Perito Moreno Glacier. Dinner and accommodation at Nibepo Aike.
Day 7 - El Calafate Continental breakfast. Full day lake excursion to see Upsala Glacier and Onelli Bay, cruising among hundreds of icebergs that have broken off from the glacier. Dinner and accommodation at Nibepo Aike.
Day 8 - El Calafate Continental breakfast. Overland trip to Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the world’s largest active continental glaciers. UNESCO has declared it Universal Mankind’s Heritage. Accommodation and dinner at Nibepo Aike.
Day 9 - El Calafate Continental breakfast. Transfer by regular bus to Río Gallegos airport or departure for optional tours: Torres del Paine, Fitz Roy or Helsingfors.
Winter
Departures: Fridays from April 16th through September 30th. Meals: Full board. Air Fare: Not included
Within this season, we operate this "CLASSIC" but by the end of April there are hardly any penguins left in the colony after their nest, although we have an excursion to Río Chubut, visiting Gaiman, a typicall welsh colony and its beautiful landscape. Also you will discover another Argentina's natural wonder: the southern right whale, while every winter, when some 600 of these enormous mammals (only about 5,000 in the world) make their way into the warm waters surrounding Puerto Pirámides, where we'll start a boat trip to enjoy this unique spectacle. At Ushuaia, we'll spend and additional night as the winter season is ideal to enjoy its ski centers. Also, we'll visit the Huskies' Valley, as well as a sail through the Beagle Channel. At El Calafate we shall spend just one night, because during winter time is not always available the excursion to Upsala glacier.
