Day 1 - San Miguel de Tucumán / Tafi del Valle

Reception at Tucumán airport and visit Villa Nogues and San Javier Hill, with a panoramiv view of the city. Then, departure to Tafi del Valle through Los Sosa Gorge, an area of exuberant subtropical vegetation. Visit indio Monument and el Mollar with Parque de los Menhires (archeological reserves of great value). Arrival at Tafi del Valle (entrance to the Calchaquies Valleys) famous for its cheese and beauty. Accommodation at Hotel Mirador del Tafi. Dinner.

Day 2 - Tafi del Valle / Molinos

Breakfast. Departure to Amaicha del Valle, visit a museum and continue along the National Route 40 to visit Quilmes (an ancient indian settlement, the biggest built by indians in Argentina). Arrival at Cafayate, where we enjoy a visit to a wine cellar. Continue to Angastaco and San Carlos. Arrival in Molinos. Accommodation at Hostal Provincial de Molinos, which was the house of the last spanish governor in Salta. Dinner.

Day 3 - Molinos / Salta at Estancia San Antonio

Breakfast. Departure to Cachi, a typical colonial village where we visit the Archeological Museum. Then continue through Cuesta del Obispo (3300m. over the sea), Escoipe Gorge, El Carril. Arrival at Salta. Accommodation at Estancia San Antonio, a traditional house which combines history with modern facilities and comfort. Dinner.

Day 4 - Salta at Estancia San Antonio

Breakfast. At leisure to enjoy the day walking through the tabacco and citrics plantations, horseback riding or swimming at the pool. Dinner.

Day 5 - Estancia / Salta city / Estancia Bordo de las Lanzas

Breakfast. Departure to Salta where we visit the Cathedral, the Cabildo (old city hall), San Francisco Church, craft market, etc. Then, we continue up to the north to Estancia El Bordo de las Lanzas. Arrival and walk around the plantations of the Estancia which also has a natural reserve of yacares. Dinner.

Day 6 - Salta at Estancia Bordo de las Lanzas

Breakfast. Full day excursion to Humahuaca Gorge, going through Termas de Reyes, Leon (where the gorge starts), Volcan, Tumbaya, Purmamarca and its seven coloured mountains. At the foot, small populations offer their treasure and there time seems to have stopped centuries ago. Humahuaca boasts landscapes of surprising beauty. On our return we will visit Tilcara, the archaeological capital of Jujuy where the Pucara, a very ancient indian fortification is found and Humahuaca, a typical village of the Puna. Dinner.

Day 7 - Salta

Breakfast. Transfer to the local airport.
