Estancias Tour - Overland - Route Towards The North

Day 1 - Calafate / Perito Moreno National Park

Transfer to Estancia La Oriental (capacity: 25 places) located inside Perito Moreno National Park and very close to the Belgrano lake. Accommodation. Dinner.

 

Day 2 - Perito Moreno National Park

Breakfast. Full day visit to Perito Moreno National Park. It occupies about 115.000 Hectares and shapes an amfhitheatre of mountains and chained lakes. Turquoise, blue, and esmerald paint the eight lakes of the park, seven of them turn their waters into the Pacific Ocean. Lunch-Box. The lagoons and the sky shelter swans, flamingos, condores, and eagles and also this park is one of the latest refuge for the Huemul, deer native of the Andic-Patagonic forest called "shoam" by the Tehuelches, ancient citizens of this latitudes. The huemuls are threaten, it is a specie in extintion so they have got the maximun legal protection: Natural Monument of the Nation. Its phisical appearence, strong and plump, shows that they belong to the mountains. Dinner.

 

Day 3 - Perito Moreno National Park / Pueyrredón and Posadas Lakes

Breakfast. Departure towards Estancia Lagos del Furioso. Lunch-Box. Arrival. Accommodation. These lakes of different colors, were both part of a glacier that moved back, leaving a moraine and shaping a narrow isthmus that separates them. Rigth on this isthmus is located Lagos del Furioso Inn, away from all population. This "estancia" is fully built with exquisite lenga's wood. (8 bungalows, one in suite, all of them with private bathroom, a finnish sauna, and a dinning-room with large windows, that allows the visitors to enjoy a beautiful landscape while resting). Dinner.

 

Day 4 - Pueyrredon and Posadas Lakes

Brakfast. Excursion to Rio Oro Valley, visiting Rio Furioso Canyon, a beautiful and fascinating geological site. Then, we will drive along the west coast of Pueyrredon Lake until we arrive at the Rio oro Valley and San Lorenzo Mount, the highest mountain in the Patagonian Andes. Lunch-box. Return to Lagos del Furioso. Dinner.

 

Day 5 - Pueyrredon and Posadas Lakes / Buenos Aires Lake

Breakfast and departure to Buenos Aires lake. Luncheon. Arrival at La Serena Inn, located in the very heart of this fabulous land that recalls the forgotten dreams of Magallanes, Saint Exupery and Darwin, among others. La Serena Inn is a peacefull and charming estancia. This lodge situated on the shore of Buenos Aires lake, a sapphire-blue inland sea, five times larger than the largest lake in western Europe, and the second in size in Latin America after Titicaca. With its drinkable crystal water, is one of the world's major fresh water reserves. This majestic lake springs in the desert, crosses the Cordillera, the Andean forests and waters into the Pacific glaciers. Accommodation. Dinner.

 

Day 6 - Buenos Aires Lake

Breakfast. Visit to Jeinimeni Valley , Zeballo Hill and Los Antiguos village. Luncheon. This community is an important fine fruits producer, including cherry, strawberry, raspberry, etc. and other products as honey, which is sold within the area. Its microclimate allows also the production of several other fruits such as apple, pear, peach, etc. Return to La Serena Inn. Dinner.

 

Day 7 - Buenos Aires Lake / Comodoro Rivadavia

Breakfast.Transfer by regular line bus to Comodoro Rivadavia to board flight to Buenos Aires.
