Tierra del Fuego Pre or Post Tour
Southwards, the Cordillera de los Andes sinks into the Pacific Ocean forming a large archipelago. It is a group of islands, both Argentine and Chilean, where there is a variety of channels, fiords and bays, outlined by the rugged shape of the end of the Andes, with its glaciers, lakes, peat bog valleys and lush forests. Tierra del Fuego, limited by both Oceans, the Magellan's Strait, and the legendary Beagle Channel, is the archipelago’s biggest island. Humidity increases, and the forest becomes again exuberant with likens, ferns and mosses that covers everything, particularly the sphagnum moss that form huge peats of red bogs.
